RMU Athletics Hall of Fame - Class of 2008

From left to right, Paul Snyder (men's golf; 1983-86), Katie Dugan (women's soccer; 1999-2002), Brian Cleary (football; 1994-97), Katie Noble (volleyball; 1999-2002) and Tim Levcik (football; 1998-2001) are five of the six members that make up the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2008. Missing from the photo is former track and field athlete Jarrad Pencek (1999-2002), who was inducted at halftime of RMU's victory over Duquesne Saturday, Oct. 11.

Brian Cleary
Football (1994-97)

A native of Glassport, Pa., and a graduate of South Allegheny High School, Cleary was a four-year letterwinner for the Colonials as a member of the offensive line. He started 38 career games from 1994 to 1997 at either offensive guard or tackle. An All-Northeast Conference and All-ECAC selection in 1997, Cleary was also tabbed a I-AA Mid-Major All-American by Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette. He helped lead the Colonials to back-to-back victories in the ECAC Bowl (1996 & 1997) and was also a member of the outdoor track and field team at Robert Morris, competing in the javelin.

Katie Dugan
Women's Soccer (1999-2002)

Dugan was a four-year starter at midfielder for the Colonial women's soccer program, and she owns the Robert Morris single-season and career records for goals and points. As a senior in 2002 Dugan compiled 14 goals to set the single-season mark, and she finished her career with 36 goals. A native of Glenshaw, Pa., and a graduate of Shaler High School, Dugan also owns the RMU career record for points with 85 while ranking second in assists (13). 
 
Tim Levcik
Football (1998-2001)

Arguably the greatest quarterback to don a Colonial uniform in RMU's short history, Levcik owns almost every passing record in the Robert Morris record book. A native of Ford Cliff, Pa., and a graduate of Ford City High School, Levcik owns RMU career records for completions (537), attempts (970), passing yards (7,222) and touchdown passes (76). His 22 touchdown passes as a senior in 2001 stands as the single-season school mark, while he owns three of the top five totals for passing yards in a game. His career high came in a 45-19 victory over Stony Brook (11/3/01), when he passed for 363 yards, a total that stood as the single-game record until being broken in 2003. A two-time NEC Offensive Player of the Year (2000, 2001) as well as the 1998 NEC Offensive Newcomer of the Year, Levcik led the Colonials to a 26-10 record over his four seasons as the starting quarterback, including a perfect 10-0 record in 2000. 
 
Katie Noble
Volleyball (1999-2002)

A member of four straight NEC Tournament championship teams and subsequent appearances in the NCAA Tournament, Noble is the only two-time NEC Player of the Year (2001, 2002) in Robert Morris volleyball history. She held the Colonial career record for kills with 1,418 before it was eclipsed in 2005 and also ranks third in career attack percentage (.280) and block assists (203), fourth in games played (463) and fifth in solo blocks (133). In 2001, Noble, a native of Mentor, Ohio, and a graduate of Mentor High School, helped lead RMU to a school record 30 victories. 
 
Jarrad Pencek
Men's Track & Field (1999-2002)

An extraordinary jumper for the Robert Morris indoor and outdoor track and field squads, Pencek owns indoor school records for the long (24'0.75"), triple (50'2.50") and high jump (7'0.25"). He owned the outdoor school record for the triple jump before it was broken in 2007. A native of Tunkhannock, Pa., and a graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School, Pencek was named the NEC Indoor Championship Outstanding Performer in 1999 as well as the NEC Indoor Championship Outstanding Field Performer three straight years (2000, 2001 and 2002). In 2000 at the NEC Outdoor Championships, Pencek was named the Outstanding Field Performer. He helped lead the Colonials to indoor team championships in 1999 and 2000 and an outdoor team championship in 2000. 
 
Paul Snyder
Men's Golf (1983-86)

The 2008 veteran's choice to be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame is Snyder, who won the Northeast Conference individual golf championship in 1986 with a score of 76. A four-year starter from 1983 to 1986, Snyder earned the ECAC Golf Medalist Award at Emerson Country Club in Emerson, N.J., in 1986 and was also honored with the President's Award for Outstanding Male Athlete at the RMU All-Sports Banquet. In 1987 Snyder earned the Scholar-Athlete Award for academic excellence and outstanding athletic achievement. A native of Moon Township, Pa., and a graduate of Moon Area High School, Snyder resides in Longboat Key, Fla.
