Meyer on Morris

Veteran sports writer Paul Meyer owns almost 40 years of experience in the field of journalism. He started his career at the Dayton Journal Herald in 1970 and served 13 years with the publication until the paper was merged with the Dayton Daily News in 1983. During his time in Dayton, Meyer served as the beat writer for both the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1974 to 1986 as well as the Wright State University men's basketball team from 1978 to 1993.

In 1987, Meyer joined the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, where he worked until his retirement in December of 2008. During his time with the Post-Gazette, Meyer served as the full-time beat writer of the Pittsburgh Pirates of MLB from 1987 to 2000 before serving as the backup writer from 2001 to 2008. In addition to his duties covering the Pirates from 2001 to 2008, Meyer served as the beat writer for the Post-Gazette of the Colonial men's basketball squad, including RMU's 26-8 season in 2007-08 and berth in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). Meyer also spent three years covering the football program at West Virginia University from 2002 to 2004.

As part of his assignment for the official website of Robert Morris University athletics, www.rmucolonials.com, Meyer will serve up weekly stories surrounding Robert Morris basketball as well as the latest notes and happenings around the Northeast Conference.
