Robert Morris Places Well at Bowling Green

Bowling Green, Ohio - February 1, 2010 - This past weekend the Robert Morris University women's track and field team competed in the Tom Wright Classic and earned several top finishes at the meet. Taylor Crawford (Woodbury, Pa. / Northern Bedford), Katrina Lamar (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro) and Lakeshia McCloud (Bath, N.Y. / Haverling) all earned first-place finishes in their respective events.

Crawford earned a season-best time of 9.23 in the 60-meter hurdles to place first, while Lamar placed first in the long jump by tying a season-best leap of 5.14 meters and McCloud took gold in the triple jump with a leap of 10.87 meters. Lamar earned another top finish in the triple jump, placing third with a jump of 10.10 meters. Melitta Brown (York, Ontario / Sacred Heart) and Justene Delman (Bellaire, Ohio / Saint John's Central) also performed well in the long jump earning second and third-place finishes, respectively, with marks of 5.13 meters and 5.09 meters.

Sarah Lueck (Monrovia, Md. / Urbana) placed second in the pole vault with a height of 3.20 meters and teammate Anna Samole (Berlin, Pa. / Berlin Brothers) placed third with a mark of 3.05 meters.

In the 60-meter dash, Tausha Bowser (Parker, Pa. / Seton Hill) placed third with a time of 8.28, while Ashley Slifko (Carnegie, Pa. / Chartiers Valley) took second in the 5000-meter run with a mark of 20:11.18.

The Colonials closed out the meet with a first-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay, clocking in at 4:08.42.

The Colonials return to action this Friday, February 5 to compete in the Marietta Open Alumni Meet.
