RMU Program For Student-Athlete Representation
All prospective representatives (agents and financial advisors) wishing to communicate with current RMU student-athletes must be registered with the RMU Program for Student-Athlete Representation. Information provided in the registration process will be validated. Successful applicants will be notified once their registration form is received and approved.
KEY POLICIES OF THE PROGRAM:
- Prospective representatives are expected to notify the RMU Office of Athletic Compliance- by phone or e-mail - prior to initiating direct contact with a student-athlete or a member of his/her family.
- Correspondence from prospective representatives to student-athletes may be sent through the RMU Compliance Office.
- In those cases where correspondence is sent directly from a prospective representative to a student-athlete or member of his/her family, we require such correspondence to be copied to the RMU Office of Athletic Compliance.
- Student-athletes are expected to notify the RMU Office of Athletic Compliance whenever a prospective representative initiates direct contact with them.
Time periods will be designated for in-person contact to occur between student-athletes and prospective representatives. Prior to the exhaustion of their competitive eligibility, student-athletes are not permitted to meet with prospective representatives during "restricted" periods.
Agents or financial advisors found to be in violation of the program's policies will not be included in approved activities.
Please be aware that RMU will immediately notify the applicable professional organization (NFLPA, NBPA, NHL, etc.) if a prospective representative:
- Endangers the eligibility of a student-athlete;
- Repeatedly violates RMU policies
- Engages in fraudulent or unscrupulous behavior
