Moon Township, Pa. – On Monday, College Hockey America honored fourteen members of the Robert Morris University men's hockey team for their academic accomplishments over the 2009-10 season. Overall, the CHA named 57 players from four teams to the 2010 All-CHA Academic Team.
"We take a lot of pride in our academic success and having 14 players on the academic team is a credit to our players," said head coach Derek Schooley. "This past semester we had 27 players over a 3.0 and their dedication towards the classroom shows in the announcement of the all academic team."
To earn placement on the CHA All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have completed at least one year of residency at his present institution prior to the current academic year. The student athlete must have a grade-point average of at least a 3.00 (based on a 4.00 scale) for the previous two semesters or three quarters, or an overall GPA of at least 3.00 for all terms at his present institution. The student-athlete must be both academically and athletically eligible to compete during the present season.

Juniors Chris Kushneriuk (Ottawa, Ontario / Wayne State), Brock Meadows (White Rock, B.C. / Wayne State) and Denny Urban (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Ohio Blue Jackets) earned All-CHA distinction for the second consecutive season.
Senior student assistant coach Kyle Burton (Calgary, Alberta / Calgary Canucks) was named to the team for the second consecutive year, while fellow senior Dave Cowan (Calgary, Alberta / Olds Grizzlys) earned All-Academic honors for the first time in his career.
The Colonials will face the University of Alabama-Huntsville in the CHA Tournament semi-final on Friday afternoon in Dwyer Arena. The Colonials have a 3-2-1 record against the Chargers this season as they look to advance to the CHA Championship game for the second straight season.
