Colonials Fall To Pitt In Season Opener, 1-0

Indianola, Pa. / Founders Field-The Robert Morris University men's soccer team lost its season-opening contest, 1-0, to the University of Pittsburgh Wednesday night at Founders Field in Indianola, Pa.

The game's lone goal came in the ninth minute. The Panthers were awarded a penalty kick, but sophomore goaltender Toba Bolaji (Vaughn, Ontario / Maple) came up with the save on the 12-yard attempt. Bolaji could not, however, control the rebound. Free kick-taker Alex Harrison corralled his own rebound and put away the second attempt, giving Pitt the game's only score.

Bolaji finished the contest with six saves. Hami Kara turned away five shots for the host Panthers.

Robert Morris returns to the pitch on Saturday, September 4, when it travels to Duquesne for a Noon kick-off.
