Sealock Drafted by Calgary

Moon Township, Pa. - Former Robert Morris University men's lacrosse midfielder Jordon Sealock was drafted by the Calgary Roughnecks during the 2010 National Lacrosse League (NLL) Entry Draft held Wednesday in Toronto, Canada.

Sealock was the first selection of the fourth round, the 32nd overall pick, marking the second time he was drafted by an NLL club. He was initially drafted in the 2006 Entry Draft by the Roughnecks, but elected to attend Robert Morris instead.

"It's a great opportunity for Jordon to continue his playing career," head men's lacrosse coach Bear Davis said. "Looking at the names that entered the draft, it's great to see that he was respected by that league to get selected. With his work ethic, I'm sure he'll be a great contributor in the league."

Sealock did not miss a single game during his time at RMU, playing in all 58 contests for the Colonials. He finished his career with two goals and five assists on 13 shots while adding totals of 75 ground balls and 41 caused turnovers. Sealock was awarded with All-Northeast Conference (NEC) Second Team honors after recording a team-leading 23 caused turnovers and picking up 33 ground balls in 2010. He finished the year ranked 34th in the nation with 1.53 caused turnovers per game.

Sealock served as a captain for the second consecutive year in 2010, the most successful season in Colonial men's lacrosse history. RMU won a program-record 10 games, registered its first national ranking in school history and led the nation in scoring offense with 15.33 goals per game.

Calgary won its final four games during the 2010 season to finish second in the West Division and clinched a playoff berth for the eighth time in its nine-year history. The Roughnecks went 12-4 in the 2009 regular season before running the table in the playoffs to capture the 2009 NLL Championship, their second league title. Calgary is set to open its 2011 season Saturday, Jan. 8 when it hosts Buffalo.

Sealock is the fourth Colonial drafted by the NLL, joining Andrew Watt '08, Michael Fleming '08 and Jeff Gilbert '08. Watt currently plays for the Minnesota Swarm while Gilbert competes for the Toronto Rock. Former RMU teammates Sealock and Watt will face off against each other Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2 when the Roughnecks and Swarm play a home-and-home series.
