MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Kristi Marks, an incoming freshman for the Robert Morris University women's lacrosse team, led her high school team, Apex, to an undefeated record and earned the senior co-captain a feature in Sports Illustrated.
The senior on the attack recorded 101 points in her senior campaign, netting 46 goals and handing out 45 assists. Kristi led Apex to the state title with a 20-0 record. It was not the first title state title of the year for Marks, who led the Apex volleyball team to the state title with a 27-0 mark in the fall. Marks served as a co-captain for both the volleyball and lacrosse teams. In her four seasons with Apex, Marks helped the Cougars to a four-year mark of 73-8.
Marks ranked fifth in the state of North Carolina during the regular season in points and third in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association in assists. Apex finished the year ranked as the top team in North Carolina and 26th nationally.
