Loretto, Pa. / DeGol Field - The Robert Morris University
men's soccer team ended its 2011 season Sunday at Saint Francis (pa.) with a
1-0 overtime loss to the Red Flash. The Colonials finish the season 4-12-1 and
0-10 in Northeast Conference play. Saint Francis misses out on the NEC playoffs
despite a 10-6-2 overall record and 6-3-1 mark in NEC play.
After playing a scoreless regulation, the game looked
like it would be heading into a second overtime session. A David Butler cross
in front of the net, however, found Kingsley McLeod in the box. As RMU junior
goalkeeper Toba Bolaji (Vaughan, Ontario / Maple) challenged the shooter,
McLeod chipped a shot over Bolaji and into the net to end the game in the 100th
minute of play.
Bolaji finished the game with seven saves as the Red
Flash outshot the Colonials 22-9.
