Second Half Goal Stands As Dukes Beat RMU

Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Athletic Complex - The Robert Morris University men's soccer suffered a 1-0 setback at crosstown-rival Duquesne University Wednesday night. The game was the end of a four-game road trip as the Colonials opened the season with nine of 12 games away from North Athletic Complex. RMU sits 1-4-1 while the Dukes move to 3-3-0.

A scoreless first half was played nearly dead even as both teams registered five shots. The Colonials put two of those on net, but Duquesne keeper Sam Frymier was up to task making half of his four saves in the opening 45 minutes.

The Dukes tallied the game's lone score nine minutes after the teams returned from halftime. Karter Sell got the goal, his third of the season, as he beat RMU senior keeper Toba Bolaji (Vaughan, Ontario / Maple) with the breakaway marker.

The host Dukes managed one more shot than RMU, 13-12. Bolaji finished with five saves for RMU.

Robert Morris returns home to North Athletic Complex as the Hartwick Hawks come to town for a 2:00 p.m. game Saturday, Sept. 15.
