Colonials Return Home to Entertain Hartwick

After four consecutive road games, the Robert Morris Colonials men's soccer team looks to get back on track as the Hartwick Hawks visit North Athletic Complex Saturday, Sept. 15, for a 2:00 p.m. kick-off. The Colonials are coming off a 1-0 loss to Duquesne and are now 1-4-1 on the 2012 season. The Hartwick Hawks are 2-1-2 overall following two wins last weekend at the Mayor's Cup in Oneonta, N.Y. The Hawks are looking to continue their strong play and collect a third straight win.

Series

The Colonials and Hawks have only played once before and it resulted in a RMU loss by the score of 3-1. This is the first time these two teams have played each other since that 2005 meeting.

Musket Shots

  • Senior Toba Bolaji was named NEC Co-player of the week for 9/10/12-9/17/12
  • The leading goal scorer for RMU tied between junior Miro Cabrilo and junior Danny Calabretta with one goal a piece
  • Cabrilo is leading the team in assists with one and points with three
  • Freshman Bruce Cullen leads the team in total shots with 19
  • Senior Toba Bolaji also has two clean sheet thus far on the season
  • Bolaji holds the best goals against average in team history with a 1.14 GAA and is second in team history with a .819 save percentage.

Scouting the Hawks

The Hartwick Hawks are off to a 2-1-2 start and have logged wins against NJIT and St. Bonaventure. The Hawks also have ties against Mercer and Bradley, as well as a loss in overtime to St. Joseph's. Hartwick was picked to finish fifth in the 2012 MAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Senior Cleyon Brown leads the team with six goals and shots with 16. Freshmen Marc Russell and David Stynes lead the team with two assists each. The Hawks have one clean sheet on the season logged by sophomore Mateo Munarriz. Munarriz has 16 saves on the season as well.
