RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (3/6/13)
Earning her second straight RMU Female Athlete of the Week of the 2012-13 campaign and seventh of her career is senior goaltender Kristen DiCiocco of the ice hockey squad. DiCiocco earns the honor after leading the Colonials to a pair of victories over Lindenwood at the RMU Island Sports Center last weekend in the first round of the College Hockey America (CHA) Tournament. In game one Friday, DiCiocco registered a season-high 41 saves in helping lead RMU to a 2-1 triple overtime victory. The next afternoon, the Niagara Falls, Ontario, native stopped all 24 shots she faced in a 2-0 win. On series, DiCiocco posted a 0.36 goals against average and a .985 save percentage, helping her earn CHA Goaltender of the Week (3/4/13) accolades. On the 2012-13 campaign, DiCiocco owns a record of 13-12-3 between the pipes to go along with a 2.13 goals against average and a .919 save percentage.
