RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (4/10/13)
Earning the latest RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week accolade of the 2013 spring season is senior Isabella Novella of the tennis squad. A native of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, Novella finished a perfect 3-0 in singles action last week as the Colonials wrapped up a five-match homestand. Novella opened up play Sunday with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Jenny Smith of the Mount at the No. 6 singles flight and followed that win with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Jennifer Mitchell of Coppin State Monday at No. 4. Against the Red Flash Tuesday, Novella evened her record in dual matches on the 2012-13 campaign at 7-7 thanks to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Camila Diaz at the No. 6 singles flight.
