RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (5/15/13)
Taking home his second straight RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week accolade of the 2013 spring campaign, third of the season and seventh of his career is junior Chris Carper of the track and field squad. A native of Altoona, Pa., Carper placed fifth at the 2013 IC4A/ECAC Championships in the javelin last weekend in Princeton, N.J., thanks to a toss of 65.60 meters (214’11”), helping the Colonials earn four points. Carper enters the 2013 NCAA East Regional Championships May 25-27 ranked eighth in the region in the javelin, with his school-record toss of 70.87 meters coming in the 2013 season opener at Wake Forest.
