RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (5/22/13)

Sophomore Nicole Sleith of the softball team earns her third RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week accolade of the 2013 spring campaign and seventh of her career. Tabbed the 2013 Northeast Conference Pitcher of the Year, Sleith was selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region squad last Thursday. On the 2013 season, Sleith was the driving force in helping lead the Colonials to their third straight NEC regular-season title, posting a record of 17-9 in the circle while compiling an ERA of 1.73. In 170.1 innings pitched, Sleith struck out 206 batters while yielding just 37 walks and held opponents to a batting average of just .180. In two seasons at RMU, Sleith has racked up career totals of 42 wins, including 11 shutouts, and 457 strikeouts. She is a native of Smithton, Pa., and owns a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.67 as an engineering major.
