Jurinko Named NGCA All-American Scholar

Moon Township, Pa. - Jacqueline Jurinko (McKeesport, Pa. / McKeesport), who will be a senior of the Robert Morris University women's golf team in the fall, was named a National Golf Coaches Association All-American scholar for her performance on the course and in the classroom during the 2008-09 season.

Jurinko is the third Colonial player in the last two seasons to earn the award, achieving greater than a 3.50 grade point average while majoring in actuarial science. As a junior, she played in six of the team's eight tournaments while averaging just over 97 strokes per round. Her top showing came at Long Island's Lonnie Barton Invitational where she finished 28th overall.


A total of 410 women's collegiate golfers were recognized with th prestigious honor of being named to the NGCA All-American Scholar Teams for Division I, II and III.  The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50% (Division I) or 66% (Division II & III) of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
