|Battle Against Duquesne Slated For Wednesday Night|

After securing their first win at Wright State this past weekend, the Robert Morris Colonials men's soccer team travels to Duquesne Wednesday, Sept. 12., to take on their cross town rival. The Colonials are coming off a 1-0 win over Wright State this past weekend in which senior keeper Toba Bolaji made 10 saves and junior Daniel Calabretta garnered the gamewinning score. The Colonials are off to a 1-3-1 record and will look to keep their momentum going. The Duquesne Dukes are coming off a comeback 2-1 win over Indiana-Purdue Ft. Wayne. The Dukes record on the season thus far is 2-3-0.
The Colonials are 4-10-2 all-time against their city-rival Duquesne. Last year, the Colonials won this matchup 3-2 and snapped a three-game skid in the series by way of the win. This series dates back to 1995 with the Colonials winning that first game and going 2-1-1 in their first four matchups. Since then, Robert Morris is 2-9-1 in their last 12 matchups.
Scouting the Dukes
The Dukes have started the 2012 season at 2-3-0 and their two wins are against IPFW and Howard. The losses on the season include Delaware, Penn State and Niagara. Duquesne's attack is led by senior Joshua Patterson who has four goals on the year. Patterson also leads the team in points with nine and shots with 25. Tied for the team lead in assists are junior Simon Gomez and sophomore Colin Phillips with two each. The Dukes are outshooting their opponents by 30 shots this season and have generated 13 more corners than their opponents as well. Duquesne is picked to finish ninth in the 2012 Atlantic 10 preseason poll.
