Moon Township, Pa. - The Robert Morris University Colonial Athletic Club Executive Board has voted unanimously to rename its scholarship The Welling Fruehauf Colonial Athletic Club Scholarship.
Since 2004, the CAC Scholarship has helped Robert Morris student-athletes further their education. Now, the scholarship, which is being increased at this same time by the board from a $6,000 annual grant to $10,000, will carry with it the name of one of the best friends the RMU Department of Athletics has ever known.
Mr. Fruehauf ('63, M '06) is president and chief executive officer of the Fruehauf Group Ltd. in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. Two years ago, he received the athletic department's appreciation award in recognition of his many years of support for not only Colonial athletics but for his overall support of the University.
Mr. Fruehauf is also a longtime member of the Robert Morris Board of Trustees, and his tireless efforts on behalf of not only RMU student-athletes, but the entire student body at his alma mater are greatly appreciated.
