RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (10/21/09)

Thanks to being named the latest Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Week, junior defensive back Rolf Bathold of the football team is the recipient of the latest RMU Student-Athlete of the Week award. A native of Naples, Fla., Bathold helped the Colonials snap a six-game losing streak by pitching their first shutout since 2006 with a 28-0 win over Saint Francis (10/17) at Joe Walton Stadium. Finishing with four solo tackles in the win, Bathold helped RMU extend its lead to 14-0 in the third quarter by intercepting Red Flash quarterback John Kelly and returning it 25 yards for a touchdown. Bathold also finished with a forced fumble and blocked kick in the victory. He is a management major.
