Princess Anne, Md.  - On a flooded and difficult course, the Robert Morris University cross country teams closed out the 2009 season at the Mid-Atlantic Regional on Saturday.  Although both squads did not qualify complete as a team, five individuals turned in good results despite tough conditions at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore hosted race.

Villanova captured the team title on the women's side while Georgetown earned the victory for the men.

Representing the RMU men's team were sophomores Brian Mitchell (Allison Park, Pa. / Hampton) and Arthur Leathers (Taneytown, MD / Francis Scott Key).  The duo completed the course with Mitchell finishing 159th with a final time of 36:11 and Leathers ending the season in 160th in a time of 36:12.

Three Colonial women, Kristie Domis (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Baldwin), Jessica Duffel (Punxsutawney, Pa. / Punxsutawney) and Deb Ostrander (Denton, Md. / North Caroline) also participated at the event.  Domis ended her freshman season with a 117th place result and a time of 24:19.  Ostrander owned a 150th place finish and a time of 25:05, while Duffell closed out her junior year with a mark of 25:43 and 167th place.

The Mid-Atlantic Regional marks the end of the 2009 cross country season.  The Colonial track and field team will return to action in the next few months when the indoor competition season begins.
