RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (2/25/09)

Earning her second straight RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week honor and fourth of the 2008-09 winter season is senior goalie Brianne McLaughlin of the women's ice hockey team. McLaughlin was named the College Hockey America Defensive Player of the Week (2/23/09) for the 12th time on her career after helping lead the Colonials to a 1-0 upset of Wayne State last weekend. McLaughlin compiled 81 saves over the two-game series, including 51 in helping her post the eighth shutout of her career in the upset. A native of Sheffield Village, Ohio, McLaughlin is an elementary education major.
