RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (5/19/10)

Earning the final RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week accolade of the 2009-10 season as well as taking home her second straight honor and third overall this year is junior Annie Dubovec of the softball team. A native of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Dubovec helped the Colonials advance to the semifinals of the 2010 NEC Softball Championship by going 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI in a 3-0 victory over Quinnipiac in an elimination game in Teaneck, N.J. Scoreless in the top of the eighth, Dubovec helped RMU take a 1-0 lead by doubling home Allie Patton with the eventual game-winning run. She finished the tournament 3-for-8 at the dish with a run, RBI, double and walk and on the 2010 campaign paced Robert Morris in batting average (.359), home runs (5), RBI (39), slugging percentage (.538) and on-base percentage (.410). She is an applied mathematics major.
