RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (4/11/12)

Freshman Marissa Polk of the outdoor track & field team garners the latest RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week accolade of the 2012 spring campaign after breaking a pair of school records this past weekend at the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Va. A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Polk established a new school mark in the 1,500-meter with a time of 4:40.12. She later joined RMU's 4x1,500-meter relay squad that posted a time of 19:59.81 to also break a school record. Polk enters the stretch run of the 2012 outdoor campaign ranked in the top five in the Northeast Conference in both the 1,500-meter and the 800-meter, ranking third and fifth, respectively.
