RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (3/21/12)

In leading the Colonials to a perfect 5-0 record at the UMBC Spring Classic in Baltimore, Md., senior Sarah Capp of the softball team takes home the latest RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week award. A native of McKees Rocks, Pa., Capp went 8-for-15 at the dish with a pair of home runs and nine RBI in the five games. In a 3-1 win over Siena (3/17/12), Capp finished 2-for-3 with a run and three RBI, including a two-run home run that proved to be the difference. She also finished 2-for-4 with a run, three RBI and round tripper in an 8-4 victory over Rhode Island (3/18/12) on the final day of the tournament. For her efforts, Capp was tabbed the Northeast Conference Player of the Week (3/19/12). On the 2012 season, Capp has produced a .323 batting average and leads Robert Morris in both hits (21) and RBI (13).
