West Windsor, N.J. - The Robert Morris University men's tennis team concluded its 2011-12 campaign Saturday afternoon with a 4-1 loss to in-state rival Saint Francis (Pa.) in a consolation match of the 2012 Northeast Conference Tournament at Mercy County Tennis Center.
The Colonials finish the season with an overall record of 5-18.
Picking up the lone point for RMU in the match was junior Andre Coiro (Rio De Janeiro, Brazil), who posted a 6-4, 6-3 win over Sergio Carvajal at the No. 3 singles flight.
The Red Flash were able to pick up the doubles point as well as victories at the No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 singles flights to secure the win.
Junior Jose Limon (Colonia San Jose, Mexico) paced Robert Morris in singles victories in 2011-12, finishing with an overall record of 10-9, including a 5-2 mark at the No. 1 flight and a 3-1 record at the third singles.
Limon will enter the 2012-13 campaign as RMU's active leader in career singles victories thanks to a 22-16 mark.
Robert Morris will also return its top doubles team of junior Tarun Kishan (Mississauga, Ontario / Saint Francis Xavier Secondary) and sophomore Angus Thomson (Kedron, Australia), who combined for an 8-9 record split between the first and second flights.
In addition, Thomson produced a 10-11 record in singles play in his first season at Robert Morris, including 3-3 marks at both the No. 2 and No. 3 flights.
