Pittsburgh, Pa. - The Robert Morris University men's ice hockey team closed out their three-game home stand with a 5-4 loss at the hands of Bentley on Saturday evening.

After starting quickly in the previous game, RMU would allow Bentley to register the first goal just over three minutes in to the game.  The Falcons would double their lead on the power play just over four minutes later.  While on one of their four first-period power plays, the Colonials would allow Bentley to attack with an odd-man advantage and net a short-handed goal.

The Colonials would get on the board in the second period as junior Colin South (Sewickley, Pa. / Bay State Breakers) would gather a rebound from Zach Hervato (Stittsville, Ontario / Smiths Falls Bears) and slide the puck through the Bentley goaltender to cut the deficit to two goals at the 14:10 mark.  Evan Renwick (Calgary, Alberta / Canmore Eagles) would be credited with a secondary assist on the goal.

Robert Morris would quickly strike in the opening minutes of the third period to come within one goal of the Falcons.  Senior Adam Brace (Cobden, Ontario / Canisius) would be the beneficiary of some crisp passing by the Colonials.  Line mate Scott Jacklin (Kimberley, British Columbia / Trail Smoke Eaters) would feed a pass to fellow sophomore Cody Wydo (Southgate, Mich. / Motor City Metal Jackets) who then dished a saucer pass across the goal crease to Brace who bunted the puck in out of midair.  Bentley would answer only sixteen seconds later to regain its two-goal advantage.  With just over nine minutes remaining, freshman Jay Llewelyn (Saginaw, Mich. / Carleton Place Canadians) would net his first goal in a RMU uniform.  Llewelyn would crash the net to follow up a shot by Mac Roy (Chilliwack, British Columbia / Alabama-Huntsville) and poke in a loose puck at the feet of the goaltender.  Line mate Zac Lynch (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Bay State Breakers) would earn his first collegiate point with the secondary assist on Llewelyn’s goal.  The Falcons would again extend their lead to two goals with under five minutes remaining with an aggressive fore-check that forced a RMU turnover leading to the team’s fifth goal.  Just seconds after RMU would pull the goaltender for an extra attacker; South would find the net for his second goal of the game.  A beneficiary of crisp passing from his line mates Hervato and Jeff Jones (Revelstoke, British Columbia / Merritt Centennials); South found himself all alone on the right post for a tap-in goal.  The Colonials would press the attack in the final two minutes with an extra attacker but would fall just short in their efforts.
