RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (3/14/12)

Taking home her second RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week honor in the last four weeks is freshman Nicole Sleith of the softball squad. A native of Smithton, Pa., Sleith put forth a solid effort in the circle during a the program's inaugural spring break trip to Hawaii, pitching in all four games and compiling a 1.75 ERA to go along with 19 strikeouts. Despite dropping a pair of decisions, she allowed just one earned run in seven and a third innings in a 2-1 loss to Southern Illinois (3/10/12), striking out seven. The next day she came on in relief and pitched two and two-third hitless innings, striking out five and walking one against nationally Hawaii. On the 2012 campaign, Sleith owns a record of 4-6, has compiled 53 strikeouts against just 21 walks and five of her six losses have been decided by two runs or less.
