Moon Township, Pa. - The 21st annual class of inductees into the Robert Morris University Athletic Hall of Fame is comprised of five former student-athletes and one administrator, each of whom left an indelible mark on their respective programs.

The six new members to join the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame as the Class of 2011 are Megan Bell (volleyball; 2002-05), Kali Byers (softball; 2003-06), Dr. Bruce Corrie (director of athletics; 1994-2000), Rhian Dodds (men's soccer; 1998-2002), Damien Mackman (men's golf; 2001-05) and Jonathan Marshall (men's basketball; 1970-72).

Each of the six inductees will be enshrined into the Robert Morris Athletic Hall of Fame at halftime of RMU's football game against Bryant Saturday, Oct. 22, at Joe Walton Stadium.

The RMU Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1991 to honor those who have made an outstanding contribution to Robert Morris University athletics. Nominations are solicited and individuals selected by the Hall of Fame committee. Players, coaches and administrators are eligible for selection five years after they have concluded their career at Robert Morris.

The Class of 2011 brings membership in the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame to 93.

A closer look at each of the six new members of the Robert Morris Athletic Athletic Hall of Fame:

Megan Bell
(Volleyball; 2002-05)

A three-time All-Northeast Conference First Team selection (2003, 2004, 2005), Bell is RMU's all-time career leader in kills with 1,435. She helped lead the Colonials to NEC regular-season championships in 2002, 2003 and 2004 and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2002 and 2003. During Bell's four years in a Robert Morris uniform, the Colonials posted a record of 31-1 (.969) against NEC foes in the regular season and a 6-2 (.750) mark in the NEC Tournament. Bell is the only player in school history to eclipse both 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs, as she ranks sixth all-time in digs with 1,294. Bell also compiled a career attack percentage of .230, which ranks fifth all-time at Robert Morris. A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Bell's 472 kills during her junior campaign in 2004 stands as the RMU single-season record. She is the sixth individual associated with the volleyball program to join the Robert Morris Athletic Hall of Fame.

Kali Byers
(Softball; 2003-06)

The premier power hitter in Robert Morris softball history, Byers owns career school records for games played (190), home runs (35), RBI (144) and walks (101). A native of Alum Bank, Pa., Byers started at third base and helped lead the Colonials to the 2005 NEC regular-season championship with a record of 17-3 (.850), a year after RMU finished sixth in the conference with a mark of 8-9-1 (.472). As the No. 1 seed in the NEC Tournament in 2005, Robert Morris claimed the title and the program's first berth in the NCAA Tournament. RMU also earned a share of the 2006 NEC regular-season title with Byers as a senior. In 2005, Byers established a single-season school record with 51 RBI, including a single-game record seven in a 13-4 win over Wagner in the second game of a doubleheader sweep May 8, 2005. Her 11 home runs as a sophomore in 2003 is also the Robert Morris single-season record. Byers finished her career with a .329 batting average and also ranks third in the RMU career record book for doubles (29) and fifth in hits (168). Named the 2003 NEC Rookie of the Year, she earned All-NEC honors each of her four years with program, including first team honors twice (2004, 2006) and second team accolades twice (2003, 2005). Byers is the seventh former student-athlete from the RMU softball program to be inducted into the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame.

Dr. Bruce Corrie
(Director of Athletics; 1994-2000)

Corrie served as RMU's Director of Athletics for six years from 1994 to 2000, helping oversee the inaugural football season in 1994 and the addition of women's rowing as the 17th intercollegiate athletics program in 1997. During his tenure, Corrie was responsible for the hiring of Jim Boone (men's basketball), Kim Basick (women's basketball), Bill Hodge (track & field), Tim Horsmon (volleyball) and Eric Ratchford (tennis) as head coaches, with Hodge earning induction into the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame in October of 2010. In Corrie's six seasons as director of athletics, Robert Morris claimed a total of 10 Northeast Conference regular-season championships and 10 NEC Tournament championships in various sports, including RMU's only NEC Tournament titles in men's golf (1995, 1996) and women's tennis (1996), as well as a I-AA mid-major national title in football according to Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette (1999) and a rowing national title at the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta (2000). Corrie joins former RMU athletic directors Richard Lesnak (1998) and Dr. Susan Hofacre (2005) to be enshrined in the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame.

Rhian Dodds
(Men's Soccer; 1998-2002)

A native of Hamilton, Ontario, Dodds was named the 2002 Northeast Conference Player of the Year and was also a two-time All-NEC selection, earning first team honors in 2001 and 2002. A true playmaker in every sense of the word, Dodds helped lead the Colonials to a share of the 2001 NEC regular-season championship with Fairleigh Dickinson thanks to an 8-2 (.800) record in the league. He finished his career with 17 assists, which is tied for seventh all-time at Robert Morris. His career-high for helpers of 11 came in 2002, which is tied for third in the Colonial single-season record book. Dodds is sixth member of the RMU men's soccer program to join the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame.

Damien Mackman
(Men's Golf; 2001-05)

A native of Swindon, England, Mackman was a four-time All-Northeast Conference selection for Robert Morris, finishing in the top 10 individually at the NEC Men's Golf Championships each of his four seasons with the program. Mackman finished as the runner-up at the 2005 NEC Championships with Bradley Corcoran of Long Island, finishing with a final score of 150. In the Robert Morris career record book, his averaged round score of 77.15 ranks third all-time. As a freshman in 2001, Mackman won the 2001 Holiday Inn Colonial Classic with a two-day score of 148 and posted 11 career finishes in the top 10 of tournaments. Mackman posted the best average score of any Colonial on the squad in three of his four seasons, with his best year coming as a senior in 2004-05. That year he averaged 76.8 strokes per round, which is tied for 11th in the RMU single-season record book. As a team, the Colonials finished as runner up at the NEC Championships twice (2003, 2004) during his career. Mackman joins former Colonials John Rech (1993), Bart Mease (2004) and Paul Snyder (2008) from the men's golf program to be inducted into the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame.

Jonathan Marshall
(Basketball; 1970-72)

The 2011 veteran's choice to be inducted into the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame, Marshall was a two-year starter for Robert Morris as a member of the junior college program under former head coach and RMU Athletic Hall of Fame inductee Gus Kropp. In two seasons for the Colonials Marshall averaged a double-double, scoring 743 points (12.8 points per game) while grabbing 689 rebounds (11.9 rebounds per contest). During his sophomore season in 1971-72, Marshall averaged 16.4 points per game to rank second for RMU while leading the team in rebounding. In 27 games in 1971-72, Marshall grabbed an astonishing 428 caroms, an average of 15.9 rebounds per game. He went on to finish his Division I career at Penn State. A native of Clairton, Pa., Marshall's son, Zeke, will be a junior for Akron in 2011-12 and was named the 2011 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament Most Valuable Player after averaging 8.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.3 blocks and 1.8 assists per game in leading the Zips to the championship. Marshall is the 23rd member of the men's basketball program to join the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame.
