RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (3/14/12)

Playing a crucial role between the pipes in RMU's upset victory over nationally-ranked Ohio State last week, redshirt junior goaltender Dillon Pope of the lacrosse team earns the latest RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week accolade. A native of Smithtown, N.Y., Pope earned his first start since 2010 and turned away 13 shots while allowing just seven goals in a 9-7 win @ Ohio State (3/7/12). He also recorded a career-high eight ground balls against the Buckeyes, and for his efforts was tabbed the Northeast Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week (3/12/12). On the 2012 campaign, Pope owns 33 saves and a .485 save percentage.
