Moon Township, Pa. - The 2011 Robert Morris University women's soccer schedule features a seven-game road trip, the longest in team history, as part of a 20-game season. 2011 marks the first time in the last five years Robert Morris will kick-off their season on the road when they play two games at the 5th Embassy Suites Kick-off Classic.
Facing Syracuse Aug. 19 and Eastern Washington Aug. 21 in Fort Myers, Fla., the women look to build on their 6-11-2 record in 2010.
The Colonials open their home schedule with two games before going on the road for over a month. Robert Morris will host Cleveland State Aug.24 and Niagara Aug. 26 at North Athletic Complex before playing seven straight road games, three of which will take them to Washington, D.C.
The first of seven road games sends the Colonials to Ohio where they will face Youngstown State August 28.
The women will spend the first weekend in September in our nation's capital where they will compete at American University and George Washington University Sept. 2 and Sept. 4, respectively. Robert Morris will head to Jersey City, N.J., for a match-up with St. Peters Sept. 9 before returning to Washington, D.C., to face Howard Sept. 11.
The Colonials will wrap-up the long strand of road games in their home state when they face cross town rival Duquesne Sept. 16.
RMU opens its Northeast Conference schedule and ends the seven-game road trip in Loretto against St. Francis (Pa.) Sept. 25.
Robert Morris will head to Connecticut for two games as Quinnipiac hosts the Colonials Oct. 7 and Central Connecticut State does the same Oct. 9, but not before the women come home for the first time since August to host Sacred Heart Oct. 2.
The Colonials begin a four-game home stand Oct. 14 when they host Mount St. Mary's. Over the next week and a half Robert Morris hosts Monmouth (Oct. 16), Fairleigh Dickinson (Oct. 21) and Bryant (Oct. 23).
The regular season will come to an end with two NEC games in New York as the women face Wagner Oct. 28 and Long Island Oct. 30.
