Moon Township, Pa. - The Robert Morris University women's tennis team opened its 2011-12 campaign Thursday with a 5-2 setback to Slippery Rock at the North Athletic Complex.
The Colonials picked up a pair of victories in singles action, as junior Clarissa Chen (Winnipeg, Manitoba / Winnipeg Secondary) earned a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Elisabeth Yetiskul at the No. 3 flight, while juniorEkaterina Rudneva (Leningrad, Russia) posted a three-set win over Lauren Coggins at the No. 5 flight, 2-6, 6-2 and 6-3.
Robert Morris continues its 2011 campaign Tuesday, Sept. 27, by welcoming Allegheny to the North Athletic Complex for a 4:00 p.m. match.
