RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (11/23/11)

Redshirt junior guard Velton Jones takes home the latest RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Colonials to a split last week, including a career-high 38 points in an 82-77 victory at James Madison (11/22/11) as part of the 2011 Philly Hoop Group Classic. Jones scored 20 points in the first half against the Dukes and finished with 15 of RMU's final 20 points of the contest as the Colonials climbed out of a six-point deficit in the second half. Jones finished 10-for-15 shooting from the floor at JMU and was 15-for-19 at the free-throw line. His 38 points is tied for the fourth highest single-game total in school history. Jones also led the Colonials in a 66-60 setback at Penn (11/19/11) with 16 points, five rebounds and seven assists. On the 2011-12 campaign Jones is leading Robert Morris with in both scoring (20.8 ppg) and assists (5.3 apg).
