Savannah, Ga. / The Club at Savannah Harbor - Junior Brock Pompeani (Aliquippa, Pa. / Hopewell) finished third to the Robert Morris University men's golf team to a fifth-place showing at the Lonnie Barton Invitational at The Club at Savannah Harbor. The event was the team's first of the spring season. RMU cut 18 strokes off its opening round score to finish with a team total of 630.

After a first-round 78, Pompeani found five strokes to shoot a one-over par 73 in the second round of play. Freshman Bo Lustig (Belle Vernon, Pa. / Belle Vernon) added a second round 80 to his opening 79 to finish in a tie for 16th place.

Junior Brandon Pompeani (Aliquippa, Pa. / Hopewell) recovered eight strokes in the second day of competition. After starting off with an 84, he finished up the event with a 76 to tied 19th. One of the players he was tied with was classmate Donny Lewis (Wexford, Pa. / North Allegheny). Lewis carded a 77 Tuesday after an 83 in first round play. Junior Max Cahn (Nyack, N.Y. / Nyack) rounded out the team scoring by placing 29th with a 166 total comprised of rounds of 85 and 81.

Playing as individuals, Robbie Holdcroft (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa. / State College) matched Cahn's 166 total by shooting a second round 80 to go with his 86. Kyle Peters (Charleston, S.C. / James Island (Spartanburg Methodist )) tallied a 169 with scores of 86 and 83.
