Redshirt sophomore guard Coron Williams of the basketball team earns the latest RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week accolade after helping lead the Colonials to the quarterfinals of the 2012 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament. A native of Midlothian, Va., Williams averaged a team-high 12.0 points per game as RMU went 2-1 in the tournament before bowing out with a 67-61 setback @ Fairfield (3/21/12). Williams opened the tournament by leading Robert Morris with 11 points in a 67-60 victory @ Indiana State (3/13/12), then scored a game-high 17 points in a 69-51 win @ Toledo (3/17/12) in the second round. In three games of the CIT, Williams shot 48 percent (12-for-25) from the field, including 45 percent (9-for-20) from beyond the arc. The only Colonial to start all 37 games of the 2011-12 campaign for Robert Morris, Williams finished the year ranked second for RMU in scoring with a 10.8 points per game average while draining 87 three-pointers, the second highest single-season total in school history.
