One of two females to earn the RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week accolade this week is freshman Aubree Ray, also of the outdoor track & field squad. A native of Middletown, Pa., Ray also won an individual championship at the 2012 Northeast Conference Outdoor Championships, winning the discus thanks to a career-high mark of 45.12 meters (148'00"). She outlasted Christin Bridge of in-state rival Saint Francis (Pa.), who finished second with a toss of 44.01 meters. Ray is the fourth different Colonial to win the individual championship in the discus in school history as well as the first since Christina Roadman in 2005. Like her freshman teammate Bethany Ledford, Ray will continue her 2012 outdoor campaign this weekend at the IC4A/ECAC Championships in Princeton, N.J.
