RMU Athletic Hall of Fame - Class of 2006

 

Genita Dickey
Women's Track & Field (1998-2001)

 

 

A native of Huntington, W.Va., and a graduate of Huntington High School, Dickey was one of the most dominant track athletes in school history. She was a member of the 1998 and 2000 women’s squads that claimed Northeast Conference indoor championships, and in 2000 she was named the NEC’s Most Outstanding Track Performer at the indoor championships after claiming individual titles in both the 55-meter hurdles (8.16) and the 500-meter dash (1:14.39). For indoor track and field, Dickey owns school records for the 200 (24.61), 400 (55.71) and 500-meter (1:11.81) dashes, the 55-meter high hurdles (7.94) and the 60-meter high hurdles (8.45). She also was a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that owns the indoor school record with a time of 3:50.85. In outdoor track and field, Dickey owns school records for the 100-meter hurdles (13.50) and the 400-meter intermediate hurdles (59.37). She is also a member of the 4x100-meter (47.55) and the 4x400-meter relay (3:54.55) teams that own outdoor school records.

 

Hank Fraley
Football (1996-99)

 

 

Fraley was a three-year starter for the football team on the offensive line and spent 10 years in the National Football League (NFL) with the Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns and St. Louis Rams. An All-Northeast Conference selection at offensive tackle in 1997, 1998 and 1999, he helped guide RMU to NEC championships each of those years and the 1999 mid-major national championship according to Don Hansen’s National Weekly Football Gazette. He became just the second Colonial football player in school history to have his jersey number retired, as his No. 75 was enshrined prior to RMU’s game against Sacred Heart on Sept. 22, 2001. Fraley was the starting center for five seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, playing in four NFC Championship games and starting in Super Bowl XXXIX. Fraley is a native of Gaithersburg, Md.

 

Dwight Kenner
Men's Basketball (1969-71)

 

 

Kenner played two seasons of junior college basketball at Robert Morris from 1969 to 1971, and over those two years he scored 973 points. He is the brother of former Colonial head men’s basketball coach Jarrett Durham.

 

Dan Swalga
Women's Basketball Coach (1978-91)

 

 

Swalga posted an overall record of 211-137 (.606) record as the head coach of the Robert Morris women’s basketball program in 13 seasons from 1978-91, making him the winningest basketball coach in Colonial Division I history. He led RMU to at least 14 wins in 10 of his 13 years at the helm, including a pair of 20-win campaigns, and guided the Colonials to NEC Tournament titles in 1988 and 1991. The 1983-84 club that Swalga led posted 23 wins against just five losses, with the victory total standing as a program record until 2007. He currently serves as the director of athletics at Point Park University.

Kristen Pries (1996-2000)

Nicole Snyder (1997-2001)

Rowing

 

 

Kirsten, Haase, Muskovich, Pries and Snyder claimed the Margaret McNiff Trophy at the 2000 Dad Vail Championships in the women’s varsity heavyweight four classification, winning the race in a time of 7:25.48. Kirsten served as the coxswain of the boat, Haase was the stroke, Muskovich the two seat, Pries the three seat and Snyder the bow seat. RMU’s time of 7:25.48 helped beat out Bucknell (7:28.63), Bowdoin (7:33.40), Pittsburgh (7:42.12), Florida (7:42.12) and Carnegie Mellon (7:47.92). Three of the five rowers in the boat are from Pennsylvania, as Haase hails from Pittsburgh and is a graduate of North Allegheny High School, Pries is a native of Knox, Pa., and a graduate of Keystone High School, and Snyder hails from Elizabethtown, Pa., and is a graduate of Elizabethtown High School. Kirsten is a native of Macomb, Mich., and a graduate of Chippewa Valley High School, while Muskovich hails from Cincinnati, Ohio, and graduated from Sycamore High School.
