About Robert Morris
- Closing in on the final week of the regular season, Robert Morris will finish with a home-and-home series against Mercyhurst when the Colonials travel to face the Lakers on Friday, Feb. 28 before returning home on Saturday, March 1 for Senior Night.
- Last weekend, RMU split a two-game series with Niagara, winning 4-1 on Friday before dropping a 6-3 contest on Saturday.
- Entering the series against Mercyhurst with a record of 13-15-4, the Colonials hold a conference record of 13-8-4 which places them in fifth place in the AHA.  With just one weekend remaining in the regular season, the Colonials can finish no worse than fifth and there is the possibility of RMU finishing as high as second place.
- Junior forward Cody Wydo leads Robert Morris with 21 goals and 38 points in 32 games played.
- Sophomore forward Zac Lynch paces Robert Morris with 18 assists during the 2013/14 campaign.
- Sophomore goaltender Terry Shafer has played in 30 of Robert Morris' 32 games this season, earning a record of 13-13-4 with a 2.81 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage.

Against Mercyhurst
- Robert Morris and Mercyhurst have already played once this season, a 5-5 deadlock on Dec. 14 at Mercyhurst.
- The Colonials trail in the all-time series, 4-5-5, as the three most-recent contests have all ended in a tie.
- After playing a single game in the first two seasons that RMU was a Division I program, 2004-05 and 2005-06, the two teams did not meet again until the Colonials joined Atlantic Hockey for the 2010-11 season.
- Against the Lakers, senior forward Colin South leads all active Colonials with five goals against Mercyhurst in 12 games played.
- Sophomore goaltender Terry Shafer has played in two games against Mercyhurst, going 0-0-1 with a 5.15 goals-against average and a .860 save percentage.

Scouting the Lakers
- Mercyhurst clinched the Atlantic Hockey Regular Season Championship as the Lakers sit atop the AHA standings with a record of 16-4-5 in conference for 37 points.  Overall, Mercyhurst has a record of 18-12-6.
- Junior forward Matthew Zay leads Mercyhurst with 16 goals and 40 points in 32 games this season.
- Senior forward Daniel O'Donoghue shares the team lead with Zay as the two each have 24 assists during the 2013-14 campaign.
- Junior goaltender Jimmy Sarjeant has started 26 of Mercyhurst's 36 games this season, earning a record of 16-4-5 with a 2.33 goals-against average and an .934 save percentage.

How to get a First-Round Bye
Heading into the final weekend of regular-season play, RMU is just a single point out of earning a first-round bye in the Atlantic Hockey playoffs.  If the Colonials are to take care of business, Robert Morris needs a loss by either Air Force or Connecticut to get into the top four.  If RMU was to tie either of the two teams, the Colonials hold the tie breaker over Air Force while Connecticut has a hand up on Robert Morris in the tie breaking procedure.

Lucky 13
Now in its fourth season as a member of Atlantic Hockey, Robert Morris has recorded 13 wins in each of its first three seasons in the AHA.  In each of those three seasons, the Colonials have never finished higher than fifth in the conference.
Jacklin Thrives in February
In the month of February, junior forward Scott Jacklin leads Robert Morris with 11 points in seven games.  Jacklin's 11 points put him in a three-way tie for the most in Atlantic Hockey in the month.

Shafer Winning in 2014
In 2014, sophomore goaltender Terry Shafer leads the NCAA with 11 victories.  Shafer holds a 11-3-2 record with a 2.17 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage in the second half of the season.

Extra-Attacker Goals
The Colonials have scored an extra-attacker goal three times in the final two minutes of regulation, the second-most goals in the NCAA this season.

Winning with the Penalty Kill
In its 13 victories this season, Robert Morris has allowed just four power-play goals to its opponents.  The Colonials have killed off 47 of the 51 (92.2 percent) penalties they have committed, ranking RMU 11th in the NCAA.

A Shot Difference
Outshooting the opponent has been a key component for victories this season for Robert Morris.  In their 13 victories, the Colonials have outshot their opponents by an average of 6.54 shots per game.  In its 15 losses, RMU has been outshot by an average of 5.33 shots per game by its opponents.

30-30 for Jacklin
With his goal on Feb. 22 against Canisius, junior forward Scott Jacklin joined the 30-30 club at Robert Morris.  Jacklin now has 30 career goals and 32 assists, becoming the ninth Colonial to join the club that includes senior forward Colin South and junior forward Cody Wydo.

Surviving the Second Period
The second period has been the kryptonite of Robert Morris this season.  Colonial goaltenders have recorded a 3.84 goals-against average and a .895 save percentage in the middle frame despite making 351 saves, the most saves in any period this season.

Under Fire
Sophomore goaltender Terry Shafer has seen 934 shots this season, ranking the netminder fourth in the NCAA and third in the AHA.  Shafer's 858 saves this season  put the RMU goaltender sixth in the nation and fourth in Atlantic Hockey.
