RMU Announces 2012-13 Recruiting Class

Moon Township, Pa. - Robert Morris University head women's rowing coach Midge McPhail announced her 2012-13 recruiting class Friday.

Joining the Colonials next season are Kelley Bittner (Gibsonia, Pa. / Hampton), Samantha Gunn (Buffalo, N.Y. / Holy Angels Academy), Bridget Robinson (Vorhees, N.J. / Eastern) and Caitlin Ryan (Pittsford, N.Y. / Pittsford Sutherland). Each of the four recruits will be a freshman and will have four seasons of eligibility.

"We are very excited about our incoming freshman class for the 2012-13 season," McPhail said. "Each of the student-athletes will bring a very positive contribution to our program. This is the biggest group of recruited freshmen we have ever brought in at Robert Morris, and I think our program is going in a great direction. These young women only enhance what we have been building here, and I couldn't be happier that they chose Robert Morris."

RMU finished tied for fifth in its inaugural appearance in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships at Lake Mercer in West Windsor, N.J., last month. The Colonials finished with 13 points, tying Canisius.
