The Leroy M. Ball Colonial Leadership Academy (CLA) exists to provide an opportunity for student-athletes to lay the groundwork for a successful collegiate career and a productive future post-graduation.
Through engaging speakers, workshops, networking opportunities and a service-based capstone project, participants will learn and develop under three key pillars of study:
- Self-Discovery
- Professional Development
- Servant Leadership
During the 2023-24 academic year, a total of 58 sophomore, junior, and senior student-athletes have the opportunity to build their personal brand and network through one-on-one interviews with leaders in their chosen career field. In year three as a CLA member, each person will pair up for a capstone project that will be a culmination of the skills learned throughout their time in CLA and should demonstrate their leadership abilities; these include communicating effectively, managing a team, delegating and problem solving.
