Washington, D.C. – George Washington scored just 68 seconds after kick-off and went to defeat the
Robert Morris University men's soccer team, 4-1, at George Washington Soccer Field in Washington, D.C.. The loss drops Robert Morris to 4-5 on the season while George Washington improves to 3-5.
George Washington's Garrett Heine, who finished with five points on a pair of goals and an assist, scored just 1:08 into the game to put the host squad ahead. Heine scored again in the 13th minute, curling a corner kick in for his second of the game. Christian Lawal made it 3-0 in the 22nd minute before Heine assisted on a goal by Eddie Painter to put GWU up 4-0 in the 26th minute.
Robert Morris got its only goal of the in the 59th minute off of a corner kick by
Keane McIvor.
Matt Fonagy flicked the McIvor's kick into the center of the box and
Curran Edland was able to put a shot home for his first career marker.
The Colonials return to the pitch this Sunday, Sept. 27, as they play host to the Duquesne Dukes in a 1:00 p.m. game at North Athletic Complex.
