LAST TIME OUT
The Colonials went 2-0 last week, capturing a 2-1 victory at VMI before securing a 2-0 shutout win over Detroit Mercy on Saturday afternoon. Against the Keydets, Robert Morris trailed early before junior Hugo Kadima found the back of the net with a header from classmate Darren Gray, to knot the score 1-1.
Off a throw-in, junior Logan Gilley was able to corral a redirect and put a pass to the ride side of the box to set up freshman Victor Koah for the game winning goal, 2-1.
On Saturday, it took less than three minutes for Robert Morris to get on the board as Kadima took a pass from Koah and found the back of the net, 1-0.
The Colonials opened the second half with a shot and a corner kick before a foul was committed inside the box on the Titans. Junior Chase Gilley took the kick for RMU and found the left side of the net to stretch the Colonial lead, 2-0 at the 53:14 mark.
HORIZON LEAGUE HONOR
Sophomore goalkeeper Fredrich Petrelli was tabbed the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. Against the Keydets, he faced five shots as Robert Morris was able to rally and snap a four-game losing streak. On Saturday, Petrelli tallied his fourth clean sheet of the season as he collected three saves on five shots faced.
INSIDE THE STAT SHEET
Gilley continues to pace Robert Morris with 12 points as he has found the back of the net five times and recorded two assists. He sits tied for fifth in the conference in goals and goals per game at 0.38. Gilley is currently in ninth in the Horizon League, averaging just under a point a game.
Kadima has scored in consecutive games to place him second on the team with eight points. He has found the back of the net three times, while collecting two assists on 12 total shots. Koah and juniors Logan Gilley and Kelvin Ramirez sit tied for third on the team with four points, as Ramirez has scored twice this fall.
The Colonials have allowed the third fewest goals in the Horizon League behind Green Bay and Cleveland State. They hold a 1.31 goals against average, while pacing the league in corner kicks, with 81 (6.23 Avg./G). Robert Morris has totaled 48 points this season, while tallying 18 assists and 15 goals through 13 games.
SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
Green Bay currently sits in seventh in the Horizon League standings behind the Colonials, with a 6-3-5 overall record and a 2-2-3 mark in conference play. The Phoenix are coming off a 3-1 victory at Purdue Fort Wayne last Saturday.
This will be the fourth meeting between these two programs as Green Bay holds a 2-0-1 record in the series. The Phoenix carded three goals in the second half to capture a 3-2 win over RMU last October.
Sophomore Andrew Paolucci and freshman Keegan Walker pace Green Bay with three goals, while Paolucci leads the team with eight points (2A). The Phoenix feature four players with two goals and redshirt freshman Luca Contestabile has tallied three assists, which is first on the team.
Sophomore goalkeeper Tobias Jahn is one of the top keepers in the conference. He has allowed the fewest goals in the league with .86 goals against average, while pacing the conference with a .797 save percentage. Jahn has totaled four shutouts and 47 saves this fall.
QUOTABLE
"We are excited to go play at Green Bay, who is having a good season," head coach Jason O'Keefe said. "It will be like all the Horizon League matches, highly competitive and we will need to compete and execute. If we do that, we will keep growing as a team."
